Chocolate cold cake

  • 7 oz baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3.5 oz butter or margarine
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • ½ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup pistachio nuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 packet butter cookies (8 oz)
  • Cognac or liqueur (optional)


  1. On a very low heat, combine the condensed milk with the margarine, chocolate and cocoa powder.
  2. Remove from heat once melted and leave to cool.
  3. Break the butter cookies and mix into the cooled chocolate sauce, adding the nuts and a few droplets of cognac or liqueur.
  4. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Wrap in parchment paper and chill for at least 2 hours, until solid.
  6. Cut into slices and serve with ice cream.
